Update your SIMS link: download latest versions of SIMS reports for automatic SIMS data uploads
When you log into PMW you may be notified of available updates for your SIMSlink software. You may apply these updates in two ways. Either:
a) simply open your SIMSlink application ("PMWupload") and the update will happen automatically. Now save your upload options again.
b) download and unzip these revised SIMS reports then import the reports into SIMS.
Ethnic background data is missing after my SIMS link pupil data is uploaded
This is a known issue with SIMS.net reports. To fix it please open your SIMS Link application ("PMWupload") and check that it is at least version 2.0.0.5.
Now check that your required upload options are present and correct and click "Save options".
MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please ensure that the user running the SIMSreports is a member of 'Third Party Reporting' in SIMS System Manager.
Finally, in PMWupload, click "Run and upload now". When this is complete, login to Provision Map Writer, go to the Inclusion Register and check that ethnic data is present.
Error when exporting from a report to Excel, PDF etc. : "Internet Explorer cannot download ... ReportViewerWebControl.axd from www.provisionmapwriter.co.uk..."
This is a browser cache issue. Documents produced in SSL (secure web connection) generally will not cache. Since SSL will not cache the secured document there is nothing to reference, resulting in the error message. Please try the following:
From Internet Explorer, go to: tools/internet options/advanced - scroll to the security section/uncheck “do not save encrypted pages”.
Error when printing a report: "Unable to load client print control"
This error relates to a required Microsoft Active X control which in most cases is automatically installed when the print button is clicked. If appropriate administrator rights are absent from the account the user will see the above error.
To fix this, either apply administrator rights to automatically download and install Active X objects or if that's not possible, download the "RSClientPrint.cab" file to install the Active X onto the machine. More on this
